This policy explains the cookies and similar storage JOB-EASY uses. The short version: we use what is needed to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We use no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.
1. What we actually store
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
session | Cookie (strictly necessary) | Keeps you signed in. It holds an opaque session identifier and nothing else — no personal data is stored in the cookie itself. | Set by the administrator; 30 days by default, or until you sign out |
google_signin_state | Cookie (strictly necessary) | A one-time value that protects the "Sign in with Google" flow against cross-site request forgery. | Minutes — deleted as soon as sign-in completes |
| Theme preference | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode, so the page does not flash the wrong one on load. | Until you clear your browser storage |
| Sidebar state | Local storage | Remembers whether you collapsed the navigation sidebar. | Until you clear your browser storage |
| Onboarding draft | Local storage | Keeps what you typed in the setup wizard so closing the tab does not lose it. | Cleared when onboarding completes |
The session and CSRF cookies are httpOnly (unreadable by JavaScript), SameSite=Lax (not sent from other sites), and marked Secure in production so they travel only over HTTPS.
2. Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to count page views and understand which parts of the product are used. It is cookie-free: it sets no cookie, assigns no persistent identifier, and does not follow you to other websites. We see aggregate traffic, not individuals.
3. Email tracking
Open and click tracking in platform email is switched off by default. If an administrator enables it, our emails may include a tracking pixel and wrapped links that record whether a message was opened or a link clicked — used only for deliverability, never for profiling. Your email client's "block remote images" setting defeats the pixel entirely.
This concerns email we send you. Job applications you send through your own Gmail account contain no tracking added by us.
4. Third parties
We set no advertising or social-media cookies. No third party is permitted to place tracking cookies through JOB-EASY. If you follow a link from here to another site, that site's own cookie policy applies.
5. Your choices
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies, and clear local storage. Because the two cookies above are strictly necessary, blocking them will sign you out and prevent you from signing back in — the platform will not work without them. There is nothing optional to consent to, which is why JOB-EASY shows no cookie banner.
6. Changes
If we start using cookies for anything beyond what is described here, we will update this policy and — where the law requires consent — ask for it first.
